Standard application procedure
Application requirements
Eligible for living in a student hall of residence are students of universities that are covered by the Studentenwerk Osnabrück. PhD candidates, assistant lecturers and "Referendare" (trainee teachers and lawyers) may not apply for a room.

Please note: The required charge of 10 EUR has to be remitted within seven days and your registration certificate has to be submitted by e-mail as soon as possible.
Exchange students from partner universities
Exchange students from partner universities can apply for accommodation in the student halls of residence operated by Studentenwerk Osnabrück (Student Services) through the International Office.
Currently, there are furnished rooms in the following halls of residence:

To secure a room, you must send the online application for accommodation (instruction) to Studentenwerk until the application deadline.
Application deadlines:
1 January for the following summer semester (starting in April)
1 July for the following winter semester (starting in October)
IMPORTANT: Please do ONLY use the online application for accommodation and not the one that you can find on the Studentenwerk website.
Rooms in the dormitories can only be rented for either six months or one year, meaning:
- from 1 October to 31 March for the winter semester
- from 1 April to 30 September for the summer semester
- from 1 October to 30 September for an entire academic year

If the Studentenwerk Osnabrück receives more applications than rooms available, the International Office will attempt to arrange private accommodation for those whose applications had to be rejected.
