Overview

The main building has had a colourful history. Built at the time of the founding of the university (1745 - 1747), it once served as a professor's residence, then as a surgical hospital for the university, and later as a foundation for students of the theological department. It was converted to a student residence after extensive renovation between 1984 and 1986. The total of 59 single rooms (12 of them former double rooms) vary in size and can be furnished independently, giving each room an individual touch. There is also one shared flat for two students. The building complex includes a courtyard with green areas, a pond and natural stone paving, which is particularly attractive in summer.
