Programme Description
The scholarship is aimed at refugees who are studying at German institutions of higher education. Candidates from all disciplines and subjects are welcome to apply. The grant amount is of up to 812 EUR each month plus 300 EUR flat rate for study costs and covers the entire course of studies. Further support includes individual mentoring as well as additional seminars, activities and services.
Target Group
Refugees of any religious denomination studying at German institutions of higher education. Applicants show respect toward other religious beliefs and openness to interact with others.
Academic Requirements
- Admission to a German higher education institution. The university must be state or state-recognised.
- The course of study is full-time.
- Students whose studies have not exceeded 3 semesters are eligible to apply. It is not possible to apply for the scholarship for a postgraduate Master's programme only.
- Applicants must not yet have completed a degree that is recognised in Germany or has been classified as equivalent to a German degree.

- 1 April to 15 July (midnight) for funding beginning in the following summer semester

Application Requirements
- students with a refugee status pursuing full-time courses of study
- enrolment at a state or state-recognised higher education institution in Germany
- at the time of application, a maximum of 3 semesters completed
- evidence of German language skills of C1 level
- qualified for funding as per BAföG § 8, the German Federal Training Assistance Act, (will be verified after evidence of the current residence status is submitted)
