Description/content
  • The international Bachelor's programme Power Engineering and Renewable Energies (BSc Electrical Engineering / EEB) at Technische Hochschule Mannheim guarantees significant practical relevance.
  • You can expect a multifaceted degree course of study that combines electrical engineering, instrumentation, sensors and programming.
  • You are going to do a lot of hands-on in labs and projects, with close links to local industry in Germany.

Power Engineering and Renewable Energies are important key pillars of our country. Nothing works without renewable energy!

Renewable energies are vital, especially facing climate change, and power generation has to be managed with renewable energies.

The transfer, distribution and billing are simplified with new technologies and structures, called smart grids. Applications like e-mobility have to be integrated, and every part has to be represented in a network via the Internet.

You can expect classes with:

  • a lot of practical activity
  • state-of-the-art laboratories
  • individual support and small teaching groups
  • close contact with local companies
  • interesting content, future-oriented projects, and a lot of fun

After this degree programme, you will be well prepared for the job market and can work as an engineer in important future technical areas. Both the pay and the career outlook are good.

Career fields and opportunities:

  • Graduates of electrical engineering at both the Bachelor's and the Master's level are highly sought after. Electrical engineers are irreplaceable in important areas such as mobility, the sustainable use of our resources, intelligent networks, and secure production systems.
  • The possibilities are varied, such as project management in technical development, in production but also in sales. Many follow a career in management.
  • You do not have to make a decision yet about which area you will be active in. You will have the opportunity to get to know a number of companies and fields of work to help you know what lies ahead.

Our students will participate in a multilateral course of studies. This programme covers the following fields:

  • electrical engineering
  • computer science
  • power engineering
  • e-mobility

Course details and the course structure can be found at https://www.ete.hs-mannheim.de/electricalengineering-energy/description.html.
