Description/content

Modern management is becoming ever more internationally oriented. The MSc European Management provides a unique intercultural study experience at leading European universities to prepare students for the demands of the European labour market.

Students in this programme spend one year at the University of Tübingen and one year at the partner university of their choice. They are able to choose from a broad range of courses at both universities to tailor the contents of the programme to their specific needs. Due to the international focus of the programme, graduates are able to get into different working procedures in different countries efficiently and adopt beneficial practices employed in other cultures.

In addition to the MSc in European Management, students are granted a Master’s degree from their chosen partner university. With this additional qualification, graduates have a wider range of employment possibilities in different countries and multinationally operating companies.

Course organisation

The programme requires students to earn 60 ECTS credits at each institution, amounting to a total of 120 ECTS credits. Depending on where students complete the Master's thesis, they choose two to three specialisations from a broad range of options. They take modules out of the core, specialisation, and elective studies. Within the elective studies it is also possible to choose modules offered by other institutions and disciplines such as Sociology, Political Science, or the Global Ethic Institute. The specialisations in Tübingen are: Industrial Organisation, International Business, Marketing, HRM and Organisation, Banking, Finance, International Accounting, Auditing and Corporate Governance, Econometrics, International Business Taxation, and Managerial Accounting.

Students are enrolled as full-time students at both universities and will be granted two Master's degrees: the Master of Science (Tübingen) plus the Laurea Magistrale (Pavia), the Master Grande Ecole (Strasbourg), the Master Droit-Economie-Gestion (Lyon), or either the MSc Banking and Finance or the MSc Environmental Leadership and Management (Nottingham).

Accommodation

Accommodation is available through the Student Services organisation (“Studierendenwerk“) or on the private market. Rooms in student accommodation cost approx. 200 to 400 EUR per month. As Tübingen is a very attractive place to live, private accommodation is more expensive and can take some effort to find. To make sure you find a suitable place to live, you should start looking as early as possible.

We recommend you apply for student accommodation through the “Studierendenwerk” at the same time that you apply for admission to the Master's programme (cf. https://www.my-stuwe.de/en/housing/halls-of-residence-tuebingen/ and https://www.my-stuwe.de/en/housing/faqs/) and send in a copy of your notification of admission as soon as you have received it (your application won’t be finally processed before the “Studierendenwerk” has received proof of your admission). For further information, check out the “Studierendenwerk” pages on housing in Tübingen (https://www.my-stuwe.de/en/housing/housing-infos/).

It initiates contacts between companies or public institutions and students, supports students in career planning and entry, and introduces interesting academic topics to the public. This centre promotes cooperation with those in responsible positions and thus contributes to the successful start of our graduates' careers.
