Course organisation

Format: This part-time programme is designed to meet the needs of experienced executives, professionals and managers.

Learning environment: Classroom sessions, small interdisciplinary teams, constructive participant-to-lecturer ratios, case studies, company visits, evening sessions

Teaching staff: The staff includes professors from TUM and other internationally renowned universities. In addition to the main lecturers for each module, the Executive MBA involves numerous other experts from academia and industry who share their experience and create direct connections with the professional environment.

The international experience during the Executive MBA offers exciting opportunities to immerse yourself in and understand other countries from a business perspective. Academic admission requirements
  • Master’s entry qualification (Bachelor's equal to the German system with 180 or 210 ECTS, Diploma, Magister, or “2. Staatsexamen”)
  • At lease three years of relevant full-time professional experience (after first degree) is required. Initial leadership experience is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English (skills will be assessed during the admission process; no test results required)
  • Completed online application including all required documents
  • Successful completion of the multi-stage admissions process

Admission process

All applications must be submitted on time and in full in order to be considered equally. As there are several rounds of applications, we generally consider all applications from one round first before moving on to the applications for the next round. The sooner you submit all your application documents correctly, the sooner we can give you an admission decision.

  1. Attendance at an information session
  2. Consultation by phone, via video conference or in person
  3. Online registration and submission of the application documents through TUMonline
  4. Evaluation of the candidate’s application documents with regard to the central admission requirements and considering the candidate’s motivation and aims for pursuing an Executive MBA
  5. Pre-selected candidates will be invited for an interview.
Language requirements

The programme language is English. Proficiency in English is essential in order to be able to communicate professionally. Skills will be assessed during the admission process, and no test results required.
