Enhance your leadership and managerial skills with a focus on digital transformation, business processes & technology, and IT security & privacy management. The Executive MBA in Business & IT programme at TUM is designed specifically for experienced IT professionals, technical experts, and digital managers. The core of this part-time programme is the seamless integration of leadership and communication knowledge with the latest technological advancements. The Executive MBA in Business & IT is the most flexible programme of the Executive MBA portfolio, since you can start the programme with a certificate module. The part-time programme consists of ten modules taking place in Munich at TUM School of Management or St. Gallen at the Institute of Information Systems and Digital Business at the University of St. Gallen.

Format: This part-time programme is designed to meet the needs of experienced IT professionals, technical experts, and digital managers.

The international experience during the Executive MBA offers exciting opportunities to immerse yourself in and understand other countries from a business perspective. Academic admission requirements
  • Master’s entry qualification: a first academic degree is required, such as a Bachelor’s degree (minimum 180 ECTS), a Diplom/Magister (210 ECTS), or a Second State Examination (Zweites Staatsexamen).
  • At least three years of relevant full-time professional experience (after first degree) are required. Initial leadership experience is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in English (skills will be assessed during the admission process; no test results required)
  • Completed online application including all required documents
  • Successful completion of the multi-stage admissions process

Admission process

All applications must be submitted on time and in full in order to be considered equally. As there are several rounds of applications, we generally consider all applications from one round first before moving on to the applications for the next round. The sooner you submit all your application documents correctly, the sooner we can give you an admission decision.

  1. Participation in an information session or a one-on-one consultation with a Programme Manager
  2. Online registration and submission of the application documents through TUMonline
  3. Evaluation of the candidate’s application documents with respect to the central admission requirements and considering the candidate’s motivation and aims for pursuing an Executive MBA
  4. Pre-selected candidates will be invited for an interview.
