The aim of the international Master's programme in "Advanced Mineral Resources Development" is to acquire knowledge and skills for the development of sustainable and environmentally friendly methods in mining and mining rehabilitation from a business management perspective.
It combines natural sciences, engineering and economics. Studying at three universities promotes the acquisition of intercultural competence, a key qualification for management staff in globally active raw materials companies.
The AMRD programme covers 120 ECTS points. This corresponds to a regular study period of four semesters (two years). Each semester you have to acquire approximately 30 ECTS points.

The course in this multiple-degree programme takes place at three universities in different countries. Students move between universities from one semester to the next.
Internships are parts of the lectures. They also can be carried out on an individual basis.

Part-time employment on campus (e.g. student assistant, canteen) as well as in town (e.g. in supermarkets, cafés, restaurants)
Different kinds of accommodation are available on campus and in the city of Freiberg. The average monthly rent for a room in the student halls of residence, including utilities, is 290 EUR. The most common form of accommodation is the shared flat. Each student has their own room, with the bathroom and kitchen shared.
A separate online application is required to apply for accommodation in the student halls of residence. The recommended time to submit this is three months before the start of the semester.
