HTW Berlin is synonymous with first-rate study programmes, highly qualified graduates and practice-oriented research. As the largest university of applied sciences in the German capital, HTW Berlin benefits from a unique level of interdisciplinary cooperation thanks to its diverse range of study programmes. Covering the fields of technology, computing, business, law, culture and design, research carried out at the university makes an important scientific contribution to technical, economic, and social development. The HTW Berlin encourages research and development projects as well as innovative education and cultural programmes. Topics focusing on the information society are dealt with as well as energy-related issues and environmental problems. Whereas some business-related research concentrates on promoting entrepreneurial start-ups and improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, other research addresses social economics and political issues such as European and national labour market policies or the effects of globalisation.

University location

HTW is located in one of the most interesting and multifaceted capitals in the world. With its multicultural and international flair, high living standards, affordable living costs and its offer of a broad range of free time activities (many city parks, concert halls, theatres, museums, galleries, etc.), Berlin attracts students from all over the world who come to study, live and work here.

Berlin is also the start-up capital in Germany and the EU. Recently, big and well-known companies such as Tesla tend to relocate their headquarters to Berlin or nearby, which offers excellent perspectives for HTW graduates.
