Furthermore, courses in Academic Communication & Presentation and Academic Reading & Writing will improve your academic language skills in English.

In the fourth semester, you will choose your specialisation (International Marketing or International Accounting & Reporting or International Logistics) and improve your intercultural skills in preparation for studying aboard.

Your fifth semester starts with your study abroad experience at one of our partner universities (students with a high GPA can apply for a double degree). In your final semester, you will get to select three electives of your choice, and you will complete your Bachelor's thesis.

University location

With a population of around one million, Saarland is the smallest of the German federal states. The Lorraine region in France is only a stone’s throw away, and Luxembourg is a mere 90 km from Saarbrücken. The very green region offers lots of space and opportunities for extended bike rides and hikes in the woods.

Excellent transport systems provide fast connections to major cities in Germany and throughout Europe. From Saarbrücken, the Intercity Express train service (ICE) takes you to Paris in less than two hours.

The city of Saarbrücken is the state capital and regional centre of the federal state of Saarland, which is situated at the heart of the Saar-Lor-Lux region. With approximately 180,000 inhabitants, Saarbrücken is the perfect size for an active student life. It is safe to walk and ride your bike everywhere, and the next pub, cinema, restaurant, gym or supermarket is never far away.

When it is time for a break from the books, there is always plenty going on, both on and off campus. Saarbrücken is a modern, dynamic city with a French flair that offers a variety of pubs and clubs as well as a diverse cultural scene. Get involved in one of the many sports and cultural clubs around the city and get to know the friendly locals.

For a taste of the good life, go ahead and try out some of the many regional culinary delights in Saarbrücken’s numerous restaurants and cafés.

During the summer months, take a walk or a bike ride along the Saar river. Go ahead and join local students having a picnic on the lush greenery beside the river or during one of their favourite recreational activities: "Schwenken" (having a barbecue).
