This international business programme is designed for students who are interested in international careers.
Join us in learning how global players act and decide, in understanding the impact of digitalisation, and in improving your multicultural awareness and leadership skills. You can specialise in International Marketing, International Accounting and Reporting, or International Logistics.
All lectures and seminars will be taught in small groups of approx. 40 students.

Some of the highlights of the programme are:
core business and management courses with an international focus;
specialisation courses, including projects with firms and institutions;
projects that address global challenges, such as sustainability, entrepreneurship, and digitalisation;
an integrated study abroad semester; and
options for double degree programmes for high performing students with business schools in Europe and the U.S.
The first three semesters are dedicated to general economics and business courses (such as Micro- and Macroeconomics, Financial Analysis, and Cost Accounting) and management courses (such as Operations Management and Strategic Management).
Additionally, you will learn more about the technological and legal environment of global players in courses such as IT, Data Science and Digitalisation, and International Contract Law. Furthermore, courses in Academic Communication & Presentation and Academic Reading & Writing will improve your academic language skills in English.
In the fourth semester, you will choose your specialisation (International Marketing or International Accounting & Reporting or International Logistics) and improve your intercultural skills in preparation for studying aboard.
Your fifth semester starts with your study abroad experience at one of our partner universities (students with a high GPA can apply for a double degree). In your final semester, you will get to select three electives of your choice, and you will complete your Bachelor's thesis.

The top 25% of the programme can apply for double degree programmes and obtain two different university degrees. Currently, the International Business programme offers double degree programmes with universities in France, Finland, the USA, and Mexico.
Students must pay 298 EUR for the 2023/2024 winter semester. Upon paying the semester fee, you will receive your student ID, with which you will get discounts on meals in the campus cafeteria ("Mensa") and gain access to on-campus cultural activities such as university sports, choir, a theatre group, and many others. The so-called semester ticket is also included in the semester fee. This ticket entitles you to free public transport within the entire federal state of Saarland.
Approximately 1,000 EUR per month to cover personal expenses
This amount includes estimated costs for accommodation, food, leisure activities, books and study equipment, semester fees, and health insurance charges.

At htw saar, we provide you with information, advice and support on how to find the perfect part-time job either on or off campus. In Saarbrücken, you will be able to find numerous part-time job opportunities for students. Depending on what type of job you are looking for, you may work as an academic assistant at htw saar, or you might prefer to work in a firm or a shop in town.
For non-EU nationals, depending on their visa/residence permit status, restrictions on the amount of work they are allowed to do in addition to their studies may apply.
