Description/content

The Master's programme in Industrial Pharmacy is a world-leading study programme in the English language covering all aspects of pharmaceutical sciences in an industrial setting. Undertaking a transdisciplinary approach, the course utilises a range of perspectives from diverse fields and integrates them with industry experiences, case studies, real-world projects and self-directed studies, equipping graduates with an understanding of the state-of-the-art concepts as well as basic and advanced scientific technologies to transform scientific research into industrial practice. Hands-on work experience is an important component of the course.

The Master's programme prepares students to participate in a variety of emerging careers in the pharmaceutical industry and related areas. Graduates may be employed for drug discovery, development, production, quality control, quality assurance and management, regulatory affairs, and as equipment managers in both the pharmaceutical industry and its suppliers.

Semester contribution

A semester fee of approx. 320 EUR is required upon registration/enrolment as a student or doctoral researcher. This fee covers transport by bus, tram, and regional trains within North Rhine-Westphalia for the entire semester as well as the use of student facilities.

Costs of living

Students or doctoral researchers should calculate monthly expenses amounting to at least 1,000 EUR in order to live in a modest way, including costs for housing, food, health insurance, semester fees, study materials, etc.

Academic admission requirements

Candidates must have completed the second state examination in pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, pharmaceutics, biology, chemistry or engineering with a focus on processing technologies, or an equivalent or higher qualification.

A limited number of campus jobs are available. Students from non-EU countries are permitted to work 240 half days or 120 full days per calendar year without a work permit.
