Description/content

The ESCP Master in Management (MIM) is a two- to three-year programme combining core management courses and specialisations across the School’s six campuses. Its objective is to prepare savvy, internationally-minded graduates to successfully launch their careers. This study programme is designed to develop the skills needed to analyse complex strategic and operational management issues within a global context and help you shape your future career through specialisations and up to nine months of practice-oriented experience.

Structure:
MIM consists of nine core courses (accounting for 33 ECTS credits), up to three specialisations (each 20 ECTS) and electives, and the Master's thesis (16 ECTS) as well as various integration seminars and foreign language courses (totalling 7 ECTS credits), two international internships, and the possibility to do gap semesters.

Nine core courses:

  • Corporate Finance
  • Sustainability
  • Business Law
  • Financial Reporting IFRS
  • Human Resource Management
  • International Marketing Decisions
  • Management Control
  • Organisation and Management
  • Strategy

Specialisations and electives, amongst others:

  • Consulting
  • Sustainability
  • Finance
  • Law and Economics
  • Marketing
  • Digital (Data Science, AI, etc.)
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Business Development
  • Accounting/Management Control
  • Cross disciplinary courses
  • Courses in specific industrial sectors
Course organisation

The first academic semester consists of the core courses, which provide students with general management knowledge in critical management areas:

  • Business Law
  • Corporate Finance
  • Financial Reporting IFRS
  • Human Resource Management
  • Data Driven Marketing
  • Management Control
  • Organisation and Management
  • Strategy
  • Sustainability

Students are also required to take language courses of their choice and attend the Digital Transformation Seminar, which provides insights into the digital challenges at stake for organisations.

In the second semester, students will take specialisation courses (over 60 options to choose from) while continuing language courses. The Designing Europe seminar takes students to Brussels to learn how the European Union works and how laws are created through a simulation game at the European Parliament.

At the end of the first year, students undertake a professional internship anywhere in the world. All students are required to undertake a minimum of two work placements lasting at least two months each. This opportunity may be extended to a gap semester or year. In total, this means at least 36 weeks of work experience.

During the third and fourth academic semesters (year two), students continue to focus on specialisations and electives of their choice in order to intensify their knowledge in a respective business area. Two immersive seminars take place: the Business Strategy Simulation Seminar and the Soft Skills for Leaders Seminar. The first is a computer-based simulation that enables students to develop, implement and manage international business strategies, while the second allows students to understand the behaviours and actions that will help them get hired and succeed in their careers. To gain even more international exposure, MIM students can also do an exchange semester or a dual degree programme with a partner university during their second year.

Following completion of the Master's thesis at the end of the fourth semester, students do a second internship. Upon successful completion of the four academic semesters, two internships and the Master's thesis, students are awarded up to three academic degrees at MSc level.
