Our International Computer Science BSc programme is aimed at students who are interested in a concrete education covering the broad field of application-oriented computer science with a particular focus on the development of software engineering in a global context.
The programme is run in English and qualifies students for a spectrum of career opportunities within the global IT market.
It is completed over seven semesters and is characterised by a high degree of practical relevance. Many modules offer practical exercises through exciting "hands on" projects in our modern laboratories.
Our Bachelor’s degree programme teaches the foundation in the various computer science areas. Problem solving in different programming languages is taught as well as global software solutions. Additionally, you will learn the mindset of computer science by developing algorithms, learning how to build user-friendly systems and how to protect them from attacks.
German or Spanish as a foreign language complements the international flair of the curriculum nicely and can be practically implemented during the fifth semester industrial placement. Why study International Computer Science at OTH Regensburg:
Our International Computer Science BSc programme comprises seven semesters (three and a half years), six theoretical semesters and one practical industrial placement semester. It is divided into three study sections:
In the first study section, the fundamentals are taught. Students receive an insight into the requirements of the degree programme.
The second study section expands on the fundamentals, it teaches special subject knowledge and imparts practice-oriented skills. These are put into practice and particularly deepened in the fifth study semester, the industrial placement semester.
In the third study section, students widen their knowledge through a selection of elective and advanced modules. There is also a focus on the Bachelor’s thesis, in preparation for the seventh and final semester.
After graduating, you will be both qualified and experienced enough to make a smooth transition to one of the many professional computer science opportunities within the global IT market.

The Language Track you join depends on your level of German language skills at the time of application:
If you choose the German Language Track (A), no prior German knowledge is required and you do not have to submit a German language certificate.

An industrial placement of 18 weeks is completed in the fifth semester.
500 EUR service fee applies only to non-EU students.
181 EUR (subject to change) registration fee per semester.
Your bus ticket for the semester and other student benefits are included in this price.
Students should reckon with approximately 700 to 800 EUR per month for living costs and expenses in Regensburg.
A private room with shared kitchen and bathroom in a house or flat costs between 260-350 EUR per month. Whereas, an apartment with your own private kitchenette and bathroom costs between 330-500 EUR per month.
General living costs for food, bills, health insurance (non-EU students) and socialising should then be factored in on top of room costs.
As a full-time student, there is the possibility to apply for financial aid twice a year from our International Office.
There are other possibilities open to full-time international students too, for example, the Askar-Carl-Forster-grant (a one-off grant to help with book costs) or a "Deutschlandstipendium".

BSc International Computer Science
Applicants whose native language is not English are required to provide evidence of sufficient English proficiency in spoken and written language, using the certificates recognised by OTH Regensburg.
At least level B1 should be demonstrated under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. However, level B2 is strongly recommended to keep up with the tempo of the course.
