Our programme has a strong technical and scientific approach towards artificial intelligence (AI) research: mathematical AI foundations and hands-on programming make up a large part of the curriculum. It consists of compulsory core courses, specialisation courses, and a thesis. The programme covers a wide range of topics, such as machine learning, natural language processing, deep learning, computer vision, parallel computing, and fairness and intelligent agents. In these courses, you will build a solid understanding of AI.

  • First degree (at least Bachelor's with at least six semesters) from a recognised German or comparable foreign university in computer science, engineering, or similar
  • Final grade 2.3 or better
  • Basic mathematical concepts from the fields of analysis, linear algebra and stochastics/statistics must have been completed in modules totalling at least 28 credit points (CP) in the completed Bachelor's degree course.
  • At least one year of relevant, full-time professional experience in the field of software engineering, project management, and system engineering
  • Basic knowledge of computer science
  • Basic programming skills
  • Basic university level in mathematics, including linear algebra, probability theory, and statistics
  • Basic university level probability and statistics
  • A motivation that matches the content of the Master’s programme
