FURTHER INFORMATION PROVIDED BY THE DEPARTMENT

Special features regarding teaching
The teaching of Physics at the Universität Düsseldorf is characterised by close cooperation with the Forschungszentrum Jülich (Jülich Research Centre), as well as with medically-oriented research institutions (e.g. German Diabetes Centre), in particular with the execution of final theses. The degree course in Medical Physics allows the students to benefit from the special features of the site with a traditionally strong Faculty of Medicine.

Special features regarding the international orientation
Master’s programme in Physics is completely taught in English.

Common partner universities for exchange
Universität Riga, Lettland; Universität Göteborg, Schweden; Universität Dublin, Irland; Universität Athen, Griechenland; Universität Nijmegen, Niederlande; Universität Nantes, Frankreich; Universität Pozsnan, Polen; Universität Parma, Italien; Universität Iasi, Rumänien; Universität Krakau, Polen

Special features regarding the equipment
Many large-scale research facilities such as computer clusters, quantum optical systems, helium cryostats, high-performance laser systems; Access to the major research centre in Jülich, especially in plasma physics and soft matter.

Support for founders
Center for Entrepreneurship of the HHU (CEDUS) as a point of contact at the University of Düsseldorf for all questions relating to business start-ups.
