This course is open for everyone interested in the German language.
The goal of the Summer Academy is to impart knowledge combining both the culture of Germany and the German language. Through selected regional topics, the many facets of modern German life will be discovered in activities such as conversations with experts, presentations, excursions, and a final course project. With participants from around the world, knowledge exchange and intercultural learning will be significant aspects of this summer course. All courses have lessons on pronunciation.
After a full day of learning and gathering new impressions, a variety of free time activities and intercultural get-togethers will help you to enjoy this wonderful summer course.

Lutherstadt Wittenberg, which is seat of the Institute for German Language and Culture, is part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage. The famous reformer Martin Luther lived, taught, and wrote his 95 Theses here. We have been offering language courses and regional studies in the field of German as a foreign language for international students, graduates, and academics for 30 years. We also carry out study abroad programmes for partner universities of the Martin Luther University.
Lutherstadt Wittenberg is one of the most visited towns in Saxony-Anhalt. Explore the atmosphere of the historic old town, characterised by well-preserved renaissance buildings. The numerous cafés and restaurants scattered along the narrow streets offer culinary delights. Experience culture at the museums and different events. The Elbe, parks, and bike paths invite you to relax. Vibrant cities such as Berlin and Leipzig can easily be reached by train.
