Description/content
  • Four-month global learning experience in the centre of Berlin
  • Research-oriented courses with transdisciplinary perspectives
  • German language courses, global skills training, and cultural activities

Humboldt Perspectives Study Abroad (HPSA) is the perfect programme for anyone who wants to study abroad for a few months and acquire academic knowledge and research-oriented working methods as well as global skills. The programme was inspired by the Alexander and Wilhelm von Humboldt brothers, who believed that travelling and thinking outside of the box are essential prerequisites for research and teaching. All courses ...

  • are taught in English
  • are designed at Bachelor's level
  • are open to students of all disciplines
  • offer a transdisciplinary approach to a variety of current topics related to Berlin, Germany, and Europe
  • are research-oriented and give students space to develop their own questions and topics and work on these independently
  • rely on interactive and discussion-based teaching and learning methods that incorporate the different backgrounds and experiences of the students
  • encourage learning through experience and through reflection on the learning process
  • include excursions in Berlin so that theory and reading are linked and connected to real places and the history of the city

The accompanying research and intercultural training workshops are an integral part of the programme. In addition, students will have the option of a German language course so that they can immerse themselves in the culture of their host country. You can look forward to a community of students from all over the world who will broaden their horizons together and develop new perspectives on both their host and home countries!
