Target group

This course is designed for current university students, working professionals, and individuals who are interested in starting a start-up or seeking guidance on how to initiate one. It is also open to anyone who wants to become an entrepreneur but is still wondering how to achieve this.

Participants from all fields and disciplines are welcome.

Description/content

In this course, you will learn how to develop a start-up idea into a successful business model and how to excel in a start-up pitch. As of today, it is estimated that 99% of new businesses fail. We (the creators of this course) think that one of the main reasons for the high failure rate of start-ups is the prevalence of certain myths surrounding the start-up scene. These myths can lead to unrealistic expectations. The main goal of this course is to increase the success rate of start-ups. The course offers knowledge on how to start a company and navigate the path to success.

It will have three main parts: the structured approach, hands-on experimentation, and feedback. The structured approach is provided through lectures and case studies, which serve as a compass. The hands-on experimentation consists of individual and group work that makes you try all of the new concepts and implement them directly into your own business ideas. Feedback is derived from interactions with successful entrepreneurs and key players in the start-up scene. Students who develop a high-quality business model may be put into contact with start-up supporters in Berlin.
