Description/content

Academic Content

This course offers a comprehensive exploration of delta robot kinematics, assembly, and control mechanisms, including an introduction to the Robot Operating System (ROS), a crucial tool in modern robotics. From the fundamentals of robot construction to advanced control using both Arduino and ROS, you'll learn through practical, project-based sessions that culminate in a live demonstration of your robot.

This unique programme combines theoretical knowledge with real-world applications, empowering you to design, program, and implement a delta robot that responds to your commands.

After your arrival on Sunday, we will gather for a welcome orientation. In the following weeks, there will be a lot of social events to support the instruction and the course-related activities. At these events, you can get to know the other participants, our beautiful city of Aachen, and the places in the surrounding area. Then, during the last days of your stay, you will take a final exam to earn your certificate.

At the weekends and after the farewell event, you can take advantage of the short travel distances and discover more of Germany and Europe on your own or with your new friends!

University location

The student city of Aachen is a vibrant and historic place located at the border tripoint of Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Aachen was a favoured residence of Charlemagne. After the departure of the Romans from this region, Charlemagne finally managed to forge the lion’s share of Europe into something that resembled an administrative unity, with Aachen as the beating heart of the empire. The "Rathaus" (city hall) and "Dom" (cathedral) bear witness to this earliest Carolingian building history. During your time in Aachen, you have the opportunity to discover the city, its history, and its most important sights. Moreover, you will experience student life at one of Europe’s leading technical universities and become part of the international student community. There is no better place to encounter European culture while challenging yourself in our programmes.
