You are a BSc/BE student enrolled at a renowned university, have profound knowledge of the English language and are studying mechanical engineering or a related field.
Ideally, you should have taken classes that address the following areas and thus already have basic knowledge in the following areas: lecture "Artificial Intelligence" (or objective evidence of equivalent knowledge), programming skills (C++ and/or Java), interest in logic-based programming. Linux skills are beneficial.
The minimum age to participate is 18. Students should have completed the first year of their studies.

Academic Content
In this Summer School, students receive an introduction to the engineering, controlling and programming of robots. The course conveys necessary theoretical knowledge in robotics, followed by lab courses where students can apply the gained knowledge in hands-on practical projects. The programme offers an overview of the application of intelligent, robust robots as part of future smart factories. The lecture comprises three segments covering the central topics of communication between heterogeneous systems, adaptive industrial robotics, and autonomous mobile robotics for in-factory logistics.
Academic Staff
The lectures are conducted by the Cybernetics Lab, which is part of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of RWTH. Its research focuses on cybernetic research methods in information and knowledge management. The Cybernetics Lab is supported by the Knowledge-Based Systems Group, which is concerned with knowledge representation, artificial intelligence, and cognitive robotics.
