The course targets all students and prospective students who already have German skills at least on B2 level and want to take the digital TestDaF examination in order to study at a university in Germany.
The course offers intense preparation for the digital TestDaF examination. It focuses on the acquirements that are relevant for the exam, including the following: listening and reading comprehension, structures of scientific language, and written and oral text production. Participants have the possibility to take the digital TestDaF examination at the end of the course.
The language course will be supplemented by an extensive and varied activity programme that consists of working groups in regional and cultural studies that meet in the afternoons as well as activities taking place in the evenings and on the weekends. Furthermore, there are two day trips to museums in well-known towns included in the course price – for example, a visit to the "House of History of the Federal Republic of Germany" in Bonn and to the "LWL-Museum for Art and Culture" in Münster.

For this course DAAD university summer course scholarships (usually starting at language level B1) are available. If you wish to apply for this course, you can find all necessary information about the scholarship programme and its application requirements here. To submit your application, please note the reference number HSK-1277. This number can only be used for presence courses. Applying for attending online courses is not possible.
Participants should at least have a B2 level in German.
The rent for a room in a dormitory is 270 EUR to 370 EUR, plus a deposit of 50 EUR. The rent for a room with a host family is 300 EUR, plus a deposit of 50 EUR.
An inexpensive breakfast and lunch are available in the student restaurant.
We offer our participants a varied leisure programme. For example, they can discover Bielefeld and the surrounding area, cook "typical German" meals, learn more about the German football culture (including a visit to the stadium of Arminia Bielefeld), watch current German films, or make use of the university's sports programme. The German course includes two excursions, e.g. to Bonn and Münster.
